November 28, 2001 - Pencil-style Model F6230A has universal connector that accepts any optical connector style with 2.5mm ferrule. Connector eliminates need for patch cable for direct connection to fiber under test if connector styles are dissimilar. VFL operates on single 1.5V AA alkaline battery and has "low battery" indicator. VFL output is from 1 mW laser at 650nm, providing visibility beyond 5 km. It includes choice of continuous or modulated output.
