Vinyl Acoustical Windows Fight Noise Pollution in Homes Near Highways, Railways, and Airports

San Diego, CA - One out of eight Americans suffers some degree of hearing impairment. We know that continued exposure to noise damages human hearing, and the louder the noise, the less time it takes to cause hearing loss. People living near major airports can be subjected to damaging decibel levels of up to 140 (as compared to 60 decibels from a ringing phone.) The Graham Look of Silence Series of vinyl acoustical windows reflects "lessons learned" designing and building sound-barrier aluminum windows for the commercial market. While other vinyl acoustical windows are bulky designs that create an uncomfortable feeling of "tunnel vision," Graham acoustical windows feature some of the narrowest sightlines of any in their class. They maximize the view, while they silence street noise with STC sound insulation ratings of 38 to 45 (vs. 30 for average windows using insulated glass).

• V-0400 dual sash horizontal sliding window with STC: 39-45

• V-3900 vinyl dual double-hung with 4 tilt-in sash and STC: 41-44

• V-6900 casement window with optional triple-glazing and STC: 40-43

• V- 1100 dual fixed window

• V-0900 sliding glass door with STC: 38

4-1/2" jamb depth (6" for acoustical sliding patio door) is compatible with the walls of most single-family and multi-family residences. The unique Graham double-sash hung window features an easily cleaned quad-tilt sash system. All four sash tilt in for easy cleaning from the inside of the house. Graham Look of Silence vinyl windows offer these options: internal muntins, low-e glazing, insulated glass, tinted, and obscure glass, as well as clear and laminated glass for higher STC ratings.
