Emerson Introduces High-Speed Vibration Data Collector

CSI 2130 Machinery Health(TM) Collector reduces data collection time by more than 50 percent.

KNOXVILLE, TENN (April 3, 2007) - Emerson Process Management has unveiled the CSI 2130 Machinery Health(TM) Collector, the newest member of the Emerson family of portable route-based vibration data collection devices. The CSI 2130 Collector is the fastest, most powerful device available for periodic route-based data collection, reducing collection time by more than 50 percent compared with similar devices.

The CSI 2130 Collector is the industry's only portable vibration data collector with a growth path for upgrading to a multi-channel, in-the-field analytical device. It is the ideal instrument for those just beginning to do vibration monitoring. It can also be used as a second data collector to augment existing periodic vibration monitoring programs.

The CSI 2130 Collector features high speed single-channel collection, a unique full-color backlit VGA display, and lightweight, yet rugged design in an advanced instrument for periodic collection of vibration data on rotating machinery. In addition, Emerson's patented PeakVue® processing utilizes digital technology to detect stress waves on the spot for an early indicator of bearing or gear wear. PeakVue processing also indicates the severity of a fault, enabling technicians to call for immediate maintenance, if necessary.

Information recorded from each machine in the field can be uploaded to the AMS(TM) Suite: Machinery Health Manager. Using this software, trained analysts can quickly recognize a change in the vibration pattern of a motor-pump combination, induction fan, or other rotating equipment as an indication of deterioration and can take corrective actions.

The CSI 2130 Collector is compatible with the widely-used accessories for the advanced technology CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analyzer. These include the Advanced Balancing application, a powerful field balancer, and the Advanced Laser Alignment application for quick, easy machine alignments.
