Salford Adds to Its Award-winning Line-up with the RTS Heavy Duty

OSCEOLA, IA, - Nearly one year to the day since the official launch of the RTS XT, Salford Farm Machinery Ltd. is once again proving to be driven by innovation and design with the release of the RTS Heavy Duty at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY.

Building on the highly successful Residue Tillage Specialist (RTS) Salford is launching the RTS Heavy Duty, adding a whole new dimension to their series of vertical tillage tools.

"We always knew there was the potential for the RTS to till deeper and boast more weight per blade," says Salford General Manager, Geof Gray. "Our engineers never shy away from a challenge. The RTS Heavy Duty couldn't come at a more relevant time for the industry."

The addition to the RTS series comes when no-till producers, especially corn producers, are struggling with tougher crop residues due to today's higher yielding plant genetics. The RTS Heavy Duty features a heavier shank design and larger hubs for blade mounting. This allows it to carry larger blades and coulters for deeper tillage, and more aggressive residue resizing.

This new product release comes on the heels of being recognized with a Farm Industry News 2011 FinOvation Award for the RTS XT. FinOvation Award winners cover the spectrum of new products growers need for their corn and soybean crops. Farm Industry News chose Salford's RTS XT as one of the most innovative agricultural products of 2010, based on reader interest.

"Last year we announced we had the most aggressive vertical tillage tool on the market," says Jim Danielsen, National Sales Manager for Salford.
"Today we can honestly say that we've done it again. The RTS is like a Swiss Army Knife for soil and we've just added another option to this impressive machine."

Salford's RTS equipment can operate in high moisture conditions and can be used in both spring and fall to incorporate cover crops, warm soil, prepare seedbeds, manage and incorporate residue, chop stalks ahead of primary tillage and release excess soil moisture.

Growers can see the RTS Heavy Duty up close and talk to Salford experts, including Geof Gray and the Salford sales team, at 5036 at the upcoming National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY.
