Suited for white goods and any appliance requiring high surge withstanding with safe failure mode, RoHS-compliant RWT series incorporates standard wirewound element for surge handling with 142C thermal fuse to eliminate chance of overheating or fire. UL-recognized series, which offers 2 and 7 W rated elements, is available in power ratings of 1.5-2 W. All sizes have fusing current of 2 A, TCRs of 200 ppm, and tolerances of 5% standard. Resistance values range from 1-470 ohms.

RALEIGH, N.C. (May 21, 2008) - Resistor manufacturer Stackpole Electronics, Inc. (www.seielect.com) announces an expansion to the RWT series of vertical mount thermally fused wirewounds. The RWT series incorporates a standard wirewound element for excellent surge handling with a 142C thermal fuse to eliminate the chance of overheating or fire. The RWT 5 is UL recognized to Akahane Electronics file number E255350. Stackpole now offers a 2 watt rated element and a 7 watt rated element to accommodate a broad range of commercial, consumer, and industrial applications.
The RWT is available in effective power ratings of 1.5 watts to 2 watts. The effective power rating is the power rating of the resistive element plus the thermal fuse. All three sizes have a fusing current of 2 amps and have TCR's of 200 ppm and tolerances of 5% standard. The RWT is available in resistance values from 1 ohm up to 470 ohms and is 100% RoHS compliant.
The RWT is an ideal choice for all types of white goods, such as clothes washers and dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and any appliance requiring a high surge withstanding with a safe failure mode.
The RWT is available in standard bulk packaging in quantities of 1500 pieces for the RWT 2, 1000 pieces for the RWT 5, and 880 pieces for the RWT 7. Pricing varies with size and volume but ranges from $0.40 each to $0.60 each in minimum quantities.
