Doosan DNM Vertical Machining Centers Gain 5-Axis Capability

West Caldwell, NY - The recently introduced DNM vertical machining centers from Doosan are now equipped with factory-installed Tsudakoma TN161 or TN201 rotary turning tables. The TN models incorporate specially designed, double-lead worm gears that mesh the full length of the teeth. The machine also features a patent-pending, pneumatic clamping device for added power. Together, these features improve indexing speed by 50% and clamping force by 250%, resulting faster cycle times and higher accuracy, even when machining far from the tilting axis.

Tsudakoma rotary tables are standard on Doosan's high-power DNM400-31iA5 vertical machining center with a 36.2" x 17.1" loading area, and the DNM500-31iA5 vertical turning centers with a 47.2" x21.2" capacity. Both models are powered by a 30 Hp spindle motor capable of driving CAT 40 tools at speeds up to 15,000 rpm, and generate up to 1,655 lbs thrust along the X and Y axes, and 3,611 lbs along the Z.

The bed is constructed of fine-grain Meehanite for its exceptional dampening and heat dissipating characteristics. The table is fully supported by the saddle in all positions, with no table overhang. All axes have highly precise linear motion guide ways. Add a "Big Plus" tooling system with dual contact between the machine spindle face and the tool holder flange, the DNM is built for tough cutting conditions.
