September 10, 2002 - Kondia Model Seaska Vertical Machining Center (VMC) is equipped with moveable column guided by 5-axis CNC Heidenhain TNC 530M. Able to provide linear and circular interpolation, VMC has cast iron bed and column, hardened and ground ballscrews, and cast iron balanced headstock structure. Axes have pre-loaded linear guide systems, and RANDOM-type 20-tool automatic tool change system provides air blast spindle taper cleaning system. VMC has 6,000 rpm, oil-cooled main spindle cartridge.

Clausing Introduces New Kondia Seaska Vertical Machining Center
The new Clausing/Kondia Model Seaska Vertical Machining Center is equipped with a moveable column guided by a 5-axis CNC Heidenhain TNC 530M that provides precise positioning control, and linear and circular interpolation. The machine features a cast iron bed and column for rigidity, hardened and ground ballscrews and a cast iron balanced headstock structure. The X, Y and Z axes have highly accurate, pre-loaded linear guide systems designed to provide uniform movement and rigidity. The fast, precise RANDOM-type 20-tool automatic tool change system features an air blast spindle taper cleaning system. An integral coolant system is standard, with optional through-the-tool coolant delivery from the main spindle center.
The Kondia Model Seaska Vertical Machining Center features a 6,000 rpm oil-cooled main spindle cartridge as standard, with a choice of 8,000 rpm, 10,000 rpm, 14,000 rpm and 24,000 rpm options. Other features include pneumatic head counterbalance, full swarf and coolant enclosure, panel mounted electronic handwheel, and a two-axis rotary tilting table. In addition to the through-tool coolant system, other options include a swarf conveyor, probes for component measurement and tool calibration, and optical glass linear scales.
