Based on 4.2 x 4.2 mm centerlines, PE Series consists of wire-to-wire, wire-to-board, and wire-to-panel connectors available in even position sizes from 2-24. Contacts are rated for 9 A max and 600 Vac. Using headers, designers can create systems where exact positioning of connectors is aided by funnel lead-in of housing to permit alignment and mating. Applications include power supplies, vending equipment, computer motherboards, and appliances.

Economical Headers For Blindmate Applications
HARRISBURG, Pa. - July 24, 2007 - Tyco Electronics Corporation recently added blindmateable vertical headers to its 4.2 mm PE series connector system. The 4.2mm PE series connector system is a low cost, wire-to-wire, wire-to-board and wire-to-panel connector based on 4.2 mm x 4.2mm centerlines. The new blindmateable headers are available in even position sizes, ranging from two up to twenty four. 4.2 mm PE series connectors are suitable for a wide range of industrial, commercial and general purpose electronics applications including power supplies, vending equipment, computer motherboards and household appliances.
With the new blindmateable headers, designers have an increased level of flexibility when designing power and signal connections in low-cost applications. Using blindmateable headers, designers can create system where exact positioning of mating connectors is aided by the funnel lead-in of the housing to permit easier alignment and mating in wire-to-board applications.
The 4.2 mm PE series connector system is available in UL 94V-2 or UL 94V-0 housing materials, and the contacts are tin plated or gold plated brass. Contacts are rated for 9 amps maximum (two-position version) and 600 VAC. This product is rated for 50 mating and unmating cycles and is suitable for intermating and interchanging with competitive products as well as Tyco Electronics' AMP-DUAC connectors.
Pricing for 4.2 mm PE series blindmateable headers is as low as $.11 each for a two position header at production volumes. Deliveries are typically eight weeks.
