June 16, 2009 - Made from coated polyester fabric, Flexaust® CW-162 safety ventilation hose meets Department of Transportation standards for flame spread and smoke generation per ASTM E162, ASTM E662 along with SMP 800C, and FRA requirements. Available in sizes from 1.5-12 in. ID, unit operates over -45°F to 250°F temperature range. It is supplied with plain or cuffed ends in 25 ft or custom lengths.

Safety Ventilation Hose Meets Flame, Smoke & Toxicity Standards


A new ventilation hose for use in railcars and transit systems that meets DOT (Department of Transportation) standards for flame spread and smoke generation per ASTM E162, ASTM E662, and related specifications is being introduced by Flexaust of Warsaw, Indiana.

Flexaust® CW-162 Safety Ventilation Hose is made from a coated polyester fabric and meets DOT standards for flame spread and smoke generation when tested to ASTM E162, ASTM E662, along with SMP 800C (toxic gas generation), and FRA requirements. Developed for use in railcars, transit systems, and similar applications where large groups of people are found in confined spaces, this ventilation hose comes in sizes from 1.5" to 12" I.D.

Supplied with plain or cuffed ends in 25 ft. or custom lengths, Flexaust® CW-162 Safety Ventilation Hose operates over a -45°F to 250°F temp. range. In addition to railcars and transit authorities, this hose is recommended for light duty, low pressure applications involving automobiles, trucks, shipyards, and others requiring safe ventilation hose for confined spaces.

Flexaust® CW-162 Safety Ventilation Hose is priced from $3.95 per ft., depending upon size and quantity. Free samples are available upon request.
