February 1, 2011 - Supplied in NEMA 3R enclosure with 0-200 psi pressure transducer, VARIOspeed® is available from 5-150 hp at 208-240 V and 5-250 hp at 380-480 V, single phase or 3-phase supply voltage. As flow and head conditions change in pumping system, drive automatically controls pump speed and maintains constant discharge pressure. Built-in features include P.I.D. control, energy optimization control, adjustable electronic overload, automatic system restart, and high/low pressure alarms.

VARIOspeed® Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)


Detroit Lakes, Minnesota - SJE-Rhombus®, a leading controls provider for the water/wastewater industry, introduces the VARIOspeed® variable frequency drive (VFD) for constant pressure control applications.

The VARIOspeed® VFD is designed specifically for pressure control applications.
As the flow and head conditions change in the pumping system, the VARIOspeed® VFD is able to automatically control the pump speed and maintain a constant discharge pressure. The desired set pressure is set using the user friendly VFD keypad. The pressure transducer measures the pump discharge pressure. The VARIOspeed® VFD is available from 5HP to 150HP @ 208-240V and 5HP to 250HP @380-480V, single phase or three phase supply voltage. Built-in features include P.I.D. control, energy optimization control, adjustable electronic overload, automatic system restart, high and low pressure alarms, and more. Typical applications include booster pumps, deep well submersible pumps and irrigation pumps.

The standard VARIOspeed® VFD is supplied in a NEMA 3R enclosure with a 0-200 PSI pressure transducer. SJERhombus® is a ULcertified panel shop that can customized the VARIOspeed® VFD to suit specific requirements, including duplex, triplex and quadplex VFD systems with automatic alternation and lead/lag operation.
