Vaccon's Modular High Flow Vacuum Pumps Power Robotic End-of-Arm Tools for Pick and Place Medical Applications

Medfield, MA: Vaccon Company announces its entire line of modular venturi vacuum pumps and end-of-arm tooling components easily mount to 1" (25mm) and 1.5" (40mm) extrusions to create a complete "wrist-down" end-of-arm tool for pick and place medical applications. Vaccon's "M" model venturi pumps generate high vacuum flow, critical for overcoming leaks inherent in handling flexible/wrinkled materials such as transferring plastic bags of blood test tubes or bags of saline solution.

Using Vaccon EOAT components, designers can integrate vacuum pumps, cups, fittings, sensors, spring levelers, gages and universal brackets to extrusions with simple erector-set connectivity with minimal design time. Vaccon's modular venturi pumps are cost effective and offer maximum design flexibility. Designers choose only the options and features necessary for their specific tool saving time, money and weight.

Available in seven different models, Vaccon's modular venturi vacuum pumps range in size from 2.5" to 8.5" and offer three performance levels: "L" (0 to 10"Hg/339mbar) for low vacuum/high flow applications; "M" (0 to 20"Hg/677mbar) for medium vacuum/high flow applications or "H" (0 to 28"Hg/948mbar) for high vacuum/standard flow applications. About Vaccon Company:
Established in 1972, Vaccon Company of Medfield, MA manufactures an extensive line of air-powered venturi vacuum pumps and accessories for automation and process control industries. Designed to increase manufacturing productivity while lowering costs, Vaccon vacuum pumps are lightweight, compact and efficient; located close to the work space for fast response time with minimal air consumption. Featuring a straight-through design, Vaccon venturi pumps are reliable and operate trouble free: no moving parts to wear out or clog, no maintenance and no downtime.

In addition to its standard lines, Vaccon is the "Secret Vacuum Source" in custom designed equipment for many large OEM accounts, specialty machine manufacturers, end users and even - its competition.

In June 2007, Vaccon introduced its new line of End-of-Arm Tooling components and complete solutions for robotic automation and assembly applications. Using simple erector-set connectivity, engineers have the choice to build their own "wrist-down" end-of-arm tool by integrating Vaccon vacuum pumps and EOAT components or let Vaccon engineers design a complete, pre-built EOAT, fully configured, plumbed and tested with one robot-to-EOAT connection for quick and easy, out-of-the-box installation.
