September 30, 2004 - Suited for twin-spindle CNC lathes, VacXtract unloading device removes work pieces through rear of right spindle in under 2 seconds, allowing left spindle to continue working during unloading cycle. In addition to shop air, system receives power from lathe’s own power supply and is programmed via lathe's CNC control. At proper moment, it creates vacuum inside spindle bore, gently extracting parts, allowing them to accumulate on tilt table.

VacXtract Key To Unattended Production

ST. LOUIS, MO — The VacXtract is a patented vacuum extraction unloading device specifically designed for improving productivity on twin spindle CNC lathes. This piece-removal system is robust in its construction, smart in its design, compact in size and boasts quality in its workmanship. Until now, a limiting factor on large work piece production with CNC lathes was that the operator’s need to idle both spindles while the part was unloaded by hand or ejected into a part unloader. VacXtract’s unique system removes work pieces through the rear of the right spindle in under two seconds. This allows the left spindle to continue to work during the unloading cycle, maximizing the time the lathe is cutting. Customers report production increases as high as 150% over previous methods. The VacXtract is programmed via the lathe’s own CNC control. At the proper moment, it creates a vacuum inside the spindle bore, gently extracting the parts, allowing them to accumulate on a tilt table. The operator is then free to work at several lathes at one time. Work pieces are handled gently, making this system ideal for boosting production on ground bar stock, or pre-plated shafting without marring the surfaces. Designed with a small footprint, the system will not interfere with chip conveyors or high-pressure coolant pumps. The tilt table design allows for easy access to the rear of the machine during setup and maintenance. The system receives power from the lathe’s own power supply and runs on standard shop air. It will work with lathes equipped with chucks, collet chucks or dead-length collet chucks. Each system includes one spindle liner assembly configured for the specific lathe and diameter required. Changing from one size to another is simple and takes only minutes.

Hydromat, Inc., is the exclusive North American distributor of the VacXtract.
