Grammer Introduces First-of-its-kind Urethane Seat
Midwest seat maker now custom-designing and manufacturing seat exclusively for OEMs in North America
Las Vegas - CONEXPO-CON/AGG Show, Booth # S-15126 - March 19, 2002 - Grammer, a worldwide leader in seat design and manufacturing, has created the first industrial seat made of sprayed urethane as the seating surface. The S-300 Static Seat, engineered solely in the United States, is designed exclusively for skid steer loaders and other small construction and lawn and garden equipment.
Although sprayed urethane is widely used in other industries, Grammer is the first to bring it to industrial seating. Typically, industrial seats are made of thermal-formed vinyl, which can become thin in the corners and crack over time. Sprayed urethane is pliable, puncture resistant and environmentally safer than PVC. Its sprayed application allows for uniform material thickness, even in the corners.
The shell of the S-300 is made with a strong and durable composite material. This eliminates the concern for rust, is lower in weight than steel, and allows for greater design freedom, especially with regard to attaching the cushion. Molded with the shell are attachment hooks that secure the cushion without the use of adhesives or welds.
