Neu Introduces Non-Plasticized Urethane Blend for Soft Touch Medical, Consumer, Industrial Products Applications

NORTH HAVEN, CT (February 8, 2007) - NEU (New England Urethane, Inc.), one of industry's premier producers of specialty engineered polymer compounds, has introduced a new, proprietary, non-plasticized urethane blend for a diverse range of applications including those requiring films. The new product is Neusoft® Urethane Blend.

Primary among the applications are medical and consumer and industrial products, particularly where a soft feel and touch is wanted or required. The Neuthane urethane blend can be injection molded, extruded or blow molded.

Offered in Shore A hardnesses of 50, 60 and 70, the new Neuthane Urethane Blend is claimed to have all the beneficial properties of soft rubber and is comparable in price to polymers and thermosets which it is designed to replace. The fact that this urethane blend is not plasticized makes it especially appealing in terms of processing and performance.

NEU, long-known for providing specialty blends of product in small to medium orders, will ship the Neuthane Urethane Blend in clear-to-transparent pellets. Various additives or fillers can be incorporated into the product for specific applications with special needs.

NEU, founded in 1989, is a leading North American producer of smooth running, custom compounded engineering plastic and polyurethane compounds, serving customers around the globe. The company also offers a full range of technical services. Products are of the highest quality and consistency, custom created to solve demanding industrial and medical device manufacturing problems and design demands, whether they require lubricity, biocompatibility, strength, barrier or other properties. The firm is noted for exceptional twin and single screw melt compounds that are competitively priced and delivered quickly and reliably.
