Aqualuma Introduces Six-LED Underwater Light System for Big & Bright Performance on Large Yachts

QUEENSLAND, Australia, Feb. 9 -- LED underwater lights from Queensland, Australia-based Aqualuma Underwater Lighting have quickly developed a "shining" reputation for their brightness, low energy use and rugged, seaworthy design -- which is why many of the world's best known yacht manufacturers now offer them as standard or optional equipment. To meet the growing demand for "lighting up the night" underneath larger cruising vessels and mega yachts, Aqualuma has introduced a line of new-for-2007 lights with twice the number of LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) to deliver twice the brightness.

Like the company's original three-LED lighting systems, Aqualuma's new six-LED underwater lights offer important advantages over traditional lighting systems -- as well as competitive LED products. For starters, Aqualuma uses an exclusive one-piece housing of high-impact polycarbonate -- the same material used to make bulletproof glass. This material and advanced housing construction is the result of Aqualuma's careful design and rigorous laboratory testing -- including striking the light face repeatedly with a heavy hammer without damage to the casing or LEDs. Aqualuma lights are also pressure tested to provide water tightness all the way down to 1,300 feet. This stringent testing and "bullet proof" construction are the boater's assurance that Aqualuma lights can take a pounding from the sea or even impact from floating debris.

With a six-element, high-output LED light engine inside each rugged housing, these lights penetrate deeper into the darkness when fishing and create a larger, more pleasing aura around your vessel when anchored or entertaining. Aqualuma was the first company to offer LED lights in a choice of colors to suit the specific needs and tastes of individual boaters -- and is making its breakthrough new six-LED light available in white, blue or green.

Even with this additional illumination, these new lights are still extremely energy efficient, drawing less than 1 amp at 12V and .5 amp at 24V. LED lights far outlast traditional lighting systems, providing thousands of hours or reliable performance. Plus, LEDs produce very little heat and can even be operated safely out of the water without damage. Aqualuma's six-LED lights are compact, measuring only 120mm across the front face and sealing flange with a 145mm overall length. Installation of these powerful lights requires a 76mm (3-inch) hole.

Aqualuma lights come with plenty of cable and are designed for easy, affordable installation. Aqualuma's corrosion-proof polycarbonate housing eliminates the need for bonding wires or anodes. If necessary, they can be serviced from inside the boat, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming haul-outs.
