New Technologies Applied to Nature Vision's Latest Aqua-Vu System

BRAINERD, Minn., Sept. 4 / / -- Long before scuba divers ever took their first exploratory plunges, anglers have wondered about the life stirring below the surface at night. Today, even with the increasing popularity of Aqua-Vu underwater video cameras, anglers continue to wish for the ability to see deep into those mysterious nighttime waters.

Granting these wishes and more, Nature Vision (NASDAQ:NRVN) announced today the release of their latest underwater viewing system, the Aqua-Vu DT 7. For the first time ever, the nightlife below the surface will be revealed to all angler-viewers. Reminiscent of the antennae-like floodlights that adorn deepwater submarines, the new Explorer Lighting system employs dual super-bright LEDs that illuminate large expanses of underwater terrain. Strategic positioning of the lights also effectively reduces the particle reflection that occurs with other underwater lights. The result is a sharp, bright video image that illuminates a previously dark, elusive watery domain.

Beyond the breakthrough of Explorer Lighting, the DT 7 (retail $799) offers underwater viewers several other technological advantages, including a 7-inch widescreen liquid crystal display. Mounted to a compact monitor stand that doubles as a camera cable wrap and carrying handle, the DT 7's LCD pivots on an adjustable gimbal mount. The screen itself delivers the clearest picture possible, even during bright sunny conditions.

In addition, special sensors in the camera housing transmit on-screen readouts of digital camera depth, water temperature, and camera direction. Collectively, these clues yield valuable waterbody information that anglers use to develop fishing patterns. Complete with LCD monitor, video camera optics, 100-feet of reinforced camera cable, exclusive Explorer Lighting, and battery and battery charger, the DT 7 is poised to make a major impact in fishing electronics for 2008.

Nature Vision, Inc., NRVN, a publicly held corporation headquartered in Brainerd, Minnesota, created Aqua-Vu, the first self-contained underwater viewing system in 1997. Founded by President/CEO Jeff Zernov, Nature Vision continues to reinvent the outdoor experience.
