September 14, 2009 - Supplied in vacuum-packed one-time-use can, Flash(TM) does not contain polyolester oil as carrier. It uses Dry R(TM) drying agent, which keeps dye stable and prevents it from crystallizing with moisture. Injection hose, coupled with Dry R, allows dye to mist into system for instant distribution, and one can treats up to one 5-ton unit or 64 oz of system oil. Dye flashes as moisture-free mist that instantaneously mixes with system refrigerant/oil.

Cliplight's New Flash(TM) Circulates AC/R Leak Detection Dye & Drying Agent in a Flash

Flash's drying agent acts as an instantaneous dye carrier, plus it prevents dye crystallization.

Cliplight Mfg., Toronto, a leading HVAC/R aftermarket products manufacturer, has introduced Flash(TM), a new class of ultra violet (UV) leak detection dye. Unlike all other dyes on the market, Flash does not contain polyolester (POE) oil as a carrier, but instead uses Cliplight's own Dry R(TM) drying agent, which keeps the dye stable and prevents it from crystallizing with moisture.

Packaged in a vacuum-packed "one-time use can," Flash uses Cliplight's patent injection hose coupled with Dry R, allowing the dye to mist into the system for instant distribution, making it the quickest, most even and reliable dye circulation in the AC/R industry.

Flash replaces the industry's cumbersome, messy and time-consuming task of dripping highly viscous dye through an applicator/injector into the system oil sump and then waiting for the system's circulating refrigerant to distribute it. Instead, the dye flashes as a moisture-free mist that instantaneously mixes with system refrigerant/oil. Once connected to the low side port of an idle AC/R system, the refrigerant charges the patented vacuum-packed, propellant-free disposable can design. It then mixes with the dye and enters the system as a mist through a regulating 29/1000th fixed orifice opening in the injection hose during start-up.

Flash has additional benefits:
  • One can treats up to one five-ton unit or 64-ounces of system oil.
  • No messy hand contact, clean-up or storage with dyes or dye injectors.
  • System refrigerant cleans residual dye from the reusable tap hose and readies it for the next application.
  • No contaminating moisture is introduced to the system because Dry R is used as a dye carrier and stabilizer instead of POE oil.
  • Same reliable customer service support from the company that developed the Super Seal family of vacuum-packed AC/R sealants for the HVAC/R industry and now has over 1 million applications.
