Cobra Electronics Launches High-Performance Line of microTALK® Two-Way Radios

Enhanced Line of Products Previewed at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /- Cobra Electronics (NASDAQ:COBR) announces the launch of its 2009 GMRS/FRS two-way radio line, which will debut January 2009 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The microTALK(R) line includes six SKUs, with ultra-clear, high-performance reception and Cobra exclusive features such as VibrAlert(R) and Rewind-Say- Again(TM).

The CXR900 offers the maximum power allowed by law and the highest capacity lithium ion batteries in the industry with a range of up to 30 miles and up to 3,124 privacy combinations. It also features the new high-tech Rewind-Say-Again(TM) feature, allowing users to replay calls as well as record messages for later playback. This eliminates the risk of missing an important call due to a noisy environment and allows users to store information that otherwise would be lost.

"With Cobra's 2009 microTALK line, you will never miss an incoming call," said Tony Mirabelli, senior vice president of marketing and sales. "With Rewind-Say-Again, the unit is constantly recording incoming transmissions. If you miss a call, simply press the Rewind-Say-Again button to hear the message. Recorded transmissions can also be sent to other radios, which is convenient when giving directions to a group of people. This new series delivers top-of-the-line features that rival anything currently available in the two- way category."

The entire 2009 line has been updated to provide the most enhanced features available in two-way radio. The new series features extended range capability, in addition to RoHS(R) lead-free materials and eco-friendly recyclable packaging.

Other microTALK features Cobra users have come to rely on include: VOX Hands Free Operation, which recognizes when a person is speaking and automatically begins transmitting; auto squelch; 10-channel memory; selectable high, medium or low power options; and 10 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather and hazard alert information channels.

The CXR900 has a MSRP of $99.99 and will be available Spring 2009. To learn more about the CXR900 or the complete microTALK line, stop by the Cobra Electronics booth (Central Hall booth #13238) at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV, Jan. 8-11, 2009, or visit http://www.cobra.com/.
