October 14, 2004 - Outfitted with complete systems for simultaneous introduction of solid, liquid, and gas ingredients and gas extraction, Yellow Jacket extruders produce engineered thermoplastic compounds. Users can compound any combination of materials, irrespective of ingredient phase. Machines have segmented barrel sections with various port endowments for liquid, solid, and gas. Standard screw sizes are 19, 25, 32, and 50 mm, and typical L/D ranges from 36–52:1 and longer.

Yellow Jacket Multiphase Twin Screw Extruder

New Yellow Jacket Multiphase Twin Screw Extruders are highly flexible systems developed to compound multiphase ingredients simultaneously to produce engineered thermoplastic compounds. Unlike typical laboratory twin screw extruders that deal with simple one phase or two phase ingredients, the new Multiphase Twin Screw Extruders are outfitted with complete systems for the introduction of solid, liquid and gas ingredients and for gas extraction, all simultaneously. The systems bring unprecedented flexibility to the laboratory environment, allowing researchers to have the capability to compound virtually any combination of materials, irrespective of the ingredient's phase. The use of segmented barrel sections with various port endowments for liquid, solid and gas allow easy changes to process and ingredient introduction sequences. This allows the researcher the ability to develop compounds in the future out of ingredients whose phase is presently unknowable. The Multiphase Extruder processes a wide range of thermoplastic compounds including mineral and glass filled, color and modifier masterbatch, alloys, flame retardant, anti-bacterial, UV stabilized, wood filled, foam and devolatized compounds. Standard screw sizes are 19mm, 25mm, 32mm and 50mm and typical L/D ranges from 36 to 52:1 and longer when appropriate. Complete Data Acquisition Systems with trending and statistical analysis are optional. A complete line of extrusion downstream equipment is also optional for the direct extrusion of blown and cast films, tubing, sheet, wire insulation, profiles, rods and monofilament.
