NFM Unveils 26mm Laboratory Twin-Screw Extruder

Massillon, OH: NFM, a worldwide leader in plastic and rubber processing systems and equipment, has recently introduced a TEM Series 26mm twin-screw extruder for small production runs or laboratory trials.

NFM's TEM Series is a co-rotating, intermeshing twin-screw line that offers the highest torque-per-free-volume and the highest screw speed of any major twin-screw supplier. The 26mm is ideal for laboratory trials when testing material performance because it is a direct scale-up to production size equipment. It can also be utilized in a laboratory or research facility because of its small footprint and is outfitted with casters to be easily moved.

The TEM Series is manufactured in North America by NFM under license from Toshiba Machine Co. of Japan. The 26mm unit was co-developed by NFM and Toshiba. The TEM Series is also available in models from 41mm up to 240mm. Typical applications of the TEM Series include engineering plastics, fibre compounding, filler compounding, color concentrates, polymer alloy, direct extrusion and reactive extrusion. The TEM Series offers superior dispersing, distributing and devolatilizing properties.

NFM has been at the forefront of the design and configuration of twin-screw plastic extrusion systems. Each system is custom engineered to meet the customer's specific requirements. A wide variety of secondary items, auxiliary products, controls, spare parts and complete turnkey systems are also available from the manufacturer.
