August 17, 2010 - Targeting 2- and 4-way servers, AMD Opteron(TM) 6000 Series 12-core x86 processor has Direct Connect 2.0 architecture and offers socket compatibility with AMD Opteron(TM) 6200 Series processor. Features include AMD CoolCore(TM), PowerNow!(TM), and CoolSpeed technologies, and processor supports up to 3 DIMMs/channel and up to 12 DIMMS per CPU. Offered in 12- and 8-core versions with L2 (512K/core) or L3 (12 MB shared L3 Cache) options, processor also offers ECC and supports on-line spare memory.
