Hessapp Introduces Its New DVH250 i duo Twin-Spindle, High-Production Turning Center at IMTS 2006

Chicago, IL, September 6, 2006 - Hessapp introduces its new "DVH 250 i duo" vertical pick-up turning center in Booth A-8218 at IMTS 2006. This twin spindle turning machine is designed for high-volume production applications. It has a work envelope of 11.8 x 7.9 inches (300 x 200 mm) and only requires 64.6 square feet (6 m2) of floor space.

The DVH250i duo turning center is designed to machine parts up to 9.8 inches (250 mm) in diameter, and has a shuttle-type part feeder to ensure fast part loading times. Axis traverse rates are 1,772 ipm (45 m/min) in the X direction and 1,181 ipm (30 m/min) in the Z direction.

The twin spindle design allows parallel production of two identical parts simultaneously, or parallel production of two different parts. The DVH250 i duo turning center can also be used to sequentially process a single part by moving it from spindle to spindle. In parallel production, typical parts can be machined at rates up to 200 parts per hour.

Each of the two machining areas can be equipped with a 12-position tool turret for static tools. Powered tools are optionally available. The standard tool interface is VDI 40 to DIN 69880.

A 320-size version of the DVH i duo machine is also available from Hessapp to accommodate a maximum turning diameter of 2x320 mm (12.5 inches).
