Shell Turbo Oils Meet the Demands of Power Generation Facilities

Houston - To meet the complex needs of today's turbines, Shell Lubricants offers next-generation technology in their line of turbine oils.

Turbines require high-quality lubricants that protect moving parts, while providing consistent resistance to deposits through the life of the oil. Shell turbine oils have low deposit-forming tendencies that help resist problems associated with varnish and lacquer, which can help reduce maintenance costs and downtime. Shell turbine oils, which meet the recommendations of most OEMs, provide extended oil life, excellent water separation, and resistance to the formation of sludge, aeration and foaming for industrial turbines.

Shell Turbo Oils CC

Shell Turbo Oils CC have been reformulated to meet the severe demands of modern, heavy-duty turbine applications, meeting or exceeding OEM specifications for most gas and steam turbines. Their combination of excellent oxidative stability, sludge control and surface properties makes Shell Turbo Oils CC beneficial for combined-cycle turbine technology, as well as existing gas and steam turbine plants. The deposit-resistance characteristics of Shell Turbo Oils CC enable them to lubricate the hottest gas turbine bearings with minimal deposit build-up or sludge formation. This helps reduce the risk of servo valve problems, which can cause turbine trips. The additive system of Shell Turbo Oils CC provides reserves of wear protection for highly loaded gears without sacrificing resistance to deposits or oil life.

Shell Turbo Oil J

Shell Turbo Oil J has been formulated to meet the demands of Mitsubishi Heavy Industry (MHI) combined-cycle gas and steam turbines. The oil provides reduced deposit-forming tendencies relative to some other oils in the newly emerging industry dry TOST Test. The excellent water-separation characteristics of Shell Turbo Oil J allow for protection from corrosion and the other damaging effects of water circulating in the system, which helps minimize the risk of unplanned maintenance and maximize service life. Shell Turbo Oil J tolerates the traces of contamination that can often lead to blocked filters, which can mean extended service intervals and reduced maintenance costs. Shell Turbo J Oil has outstanding resistance to foaming and rapid air release, which helps prevent pump cavitations, oil pressure drops and lubricant starvation.
