Ingersoll Rand Launches Vortex VT22 Turbine Grinder

Davidson, N.C. - Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in automotive and industrial tools and equipment, has announced the new Vortex VT22 turbine grinder.

The Vortex VT22 turbine grinder features a 3HP turbine motor, making it the most powerful 5" air angle grinder available on the market today. The Vortex VT22 turbine grinder also boasts a complete list of additional features; including a spindle offset of only .89", which allows a depth cut of up to 1.6", a pivoting vibration-reduced side handle for reduced operator fatigue, an innovative spindle lock mechanism, and a sealed angle head for optimal gear life and performance.

"Operators using the Vortex will be surprised at how powerful, versatile and accurate such a lightweight tool can be," said Andrew Mandel, Global Portfolio Manager - Surface Prep and Construction Tools for Ingersoll Rand. "The VT22 offers an unsurpassed material removal rate, and is capable of maintaining the most efficient speed and power, while under load, in the toughest applications."

The VT22s unique high-powered motor allows the grinder to maintain the optimal disc speed longer than other grinders, translating to shorter job times and longer disc life, and wheel changeovers can be accomplished in seconds with the thumb-operated spindle lock, which also controls a 10-position safety guard.

"Operator safety and comfort are very important to us," says Mandel. "So the Vortex VT22 is equipped with a directional side exhaust, an ergonomically designed, pivoting vibration-reduced side handle, and a low-profile safety lock trigger."

In addition to the vibration-reduced side handle, which can be attached for either right-handed or left-handed operation, the new turbine grinder also features a unique optional top handle for use in applications where lateral space is limited - it is the only turbine grinder in its class to offer a top handle - making the VT22 a complete solution for grinding and cutting needs.

This product has a two-year warranty and is ideal for heavy-duty operations and requirements for shipbuilders, rail yards, foundries, metal fabrication, power generation, steel mills, and heavy duty construction.

"All-in-all, the new Vortex VT22 turbine grinder will lower the cost of grinding, which means work will be completed quickly and more efficiently." Mandel added.
