PFERD Introduces HICOAT® TC Burs with Anti-friction Coatings

Coated TC Burs Offer Several Advantages In Machining Materials of Any Strength

December 1, 2006, Leominster,MA- PFERD INC. is introducing a new line of specially coated TC burs with anti-friction properties. Whether used for high stock removal or fine machining and deburring, these HICOAT® tungsten carbide burs offer several advantages when working on about any metal type from hardened, heat-treated steels and heat resisting alloys to cast iron and soft, nonferrous metals. The advantages of superior chip removal, reduced tool wear and lower heat loads are due to proprietary coatings on the burs which provide a unique, anti-friction quality. And because HICOAT® burs can operate at a higher RPM, their productivity is increased and service life is extended.

HICOAT® TC burs are available in three coating types and in a selection of shapes, cuts and sizes. They are also color coded to identify the material on which each works best. The HC-FE is a very tough, multi-purpose, gold colored coating for work on steel and cast iron. HC-HT is a silver colored coating for work on heat-resisting, nonferrous metals like aluminum, brass, copper, zinc or nickel based alloys and HC-NFE is a black colored, antiadhesive coating for work on sticky, non ferrous metals that produce long chips when machined or cut.

The bur shapes offered include ball, tree, pointed tree, cylindrical and conical and the cuts available are 1, 3 and 3 plus.
