PCB Piezotronics, Inc. Introduces a New, Smaller, Series of DC MEMS Response Triaxial Accelerometers for Automotive Applications

Novi, Michigan, USA - PCB Automotive Sensors - a division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., introduces a new, smaller, series of DC MEMS response triaxial accelerometers, 3713B. The new series of accelerometers are designed to measure low-frequency vibration and motion. The 0.8 inch cube (20.3 mm) units weight only 17.3 grams enabling use where space is at a premium. The triaxial units are available in full-scale ranges from ± 2 to ± 200 g, feature gas-damped, silicon MEMS sensing elements for uniform, repeatable, performance and offer high frequency overload protection to accommodate a variety of automotive testing requirements, including: Ride & Handling, Driveability & Shift Quality, Legislative Testing, Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH), Road Load Data Acquisition, Suspension Development, and Durability Testing.

Rugged and durable, Series 3713B sensors are hermetically sealed in a robust, titanium housing allowing for a very stable and accurate measurement in the most severe operating environments. In addition, the sensors are inherently insensitive to base strain and transverse acceleration effects. Supply voltage regulation permits operation from + 6 to + 30 VDC and the single- ended, low-noise, low-impedance output signal may be transmitted over long cable lengths without degradation. The sensors are available with a 10 ft (3m) integral cable or a multi-pin, threaded, electrical connector for easy installation and setup. Electrically, the units offer a single-ended output signal with power, signal, and ground leads for each channel.
