Ametek Drexelbrook® Introduces Next Generation In Radar Level Measurement Products

DR7000 and 7100 Series Transmitters Offer The Best Radar-Based Solutions Available

HORSHAM, PA - AMETEK Drexelbrook®, the leader in level measurement technology, has added the DR7000 Series (Radar) and DR7100 Series (Time Domain Reflectometry) to its family of radar-based level measurement instruments.

Both Series incorporate state-of-the-art features and components, including an easy-to-navigate display with choice of Touch Screens (tank illustration, bargraph, oscilliscope, signal and reflectivity screen), easy installation and set up.

Users simply fit the 2-wire level gauges to a tank or storage vessel, wire them up and turn them on. The gauge tests itself to make certain its electronics are working perfectly. An installation Wizard walks the user through a series of simple questions to define the tank and product measured.

Radar is among the most accurate choices for process level and storage tank applications for continuous level measurement under demanding conditions. The DR7000 Series utilizes Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology that offers superior signal processing capabilities.

That state-of-the-art signal processing and a 2MHz bandwidth allow the DR7000 to determine the true level in a tank despite agitated surfaces and vessel obstructions such as agitators, struts, inlets and ladders. The result is more accurate and repeatable results than competitive systems.

The DR 7100 Series relies on Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology, which uses an electromagnetic wave guided by a metallic rod or flexible cable to determine the distance, level and volume. TDR-based level sensors use less energy than airborne radar technologies and are especially suited for vessels with internal obstructions.

The DR7100 Series has higher signal dynamics, sharper pulses for measuring thinner surface interfaces, and superior Time Base Stability that allows for greater reliability than alternative systems. The DR7100 continues to accurately measure levels under conditions that cause competitive devices to fail such as strongly agitated surfaces, coated probe, or foam or fine dust in the tank. The DR7100 is available with five different probes (single rod, double rod, coaxial, single cable and double cable) for handling a full range of applications.

AMETEK Drexelbrook is an acknowledged leader in level measurement and a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electric motors with annualized sales of more than $1.3 billion.
