New Family of Pressure Transmitters for Sanitary Applications Introduced By Viatran

Ideal for Food, Dairy, Beverage and Pharmaceutical Processing Applications

Grand Island, NY (June 20, 2005) . . . Viatran Corporation, a Dynisco Company, has introduced its new family of pressure transmitters for use in sanitary applications. The company's Model 360, 363, and 364 products all meet 3A standards for sanitary instrumentation and are designed for a variety of markets including sanitary tank level measurement, beverage, food, dairy, and pharmaceutical applications.

All of the Viatran sanitary pressure transmitter models feature standard Hastelloy diaphragms, allowing for use in acidic and caustic medias, and eliminating the possibility of bacteria growth. A unique breather system in each transmitter eliminates condensation, which reduces contamination to the electronics.

In addition, the Model 360 and 364 transmitters are available with the HART communications protocol, for providing easy communication with your transmitter. This affords system commissioning and unsurpassed accuracy and rangeability. Remote calibration can be accomplished using a handheld device or a PC using free available software.

Viatran's Model 360 sanitary level transmitter is a tank level transmitter that is designed to dramatically improve Clean-in-Place (CIP) recovery times. During a CIP process, temperatures exceed 180°F and typical sensors require from four to six minutes to recover before maintaining accurate readings. The Model 360 recovers in less than one minute, minimizing costly downtime and wasted process media due to inaccurate readings.

The Model 363 sanitary level transmitter features an easily accessible sealed zero and span adjustment, meaning there is no need to remove the connector to make any adjustments. Like the Model 360, it fully stabilizes to temperature changes in less than one minute. In addition, the Model 363 features quick-disconnect tri-clamp connections that allow for easy product removal for cleaning.

The Model 364 sanitary transmitter is a gauge or absolute pressure transmitter, for both pressure and level measurements. Like the Model 363, it features a tri-clamp connection, making it ideal for applications such as dairy, food, and pharmaceutical processing where frequent cleaning is required.
