Transmitters and Receivers work at distances to 1,000 ft.

Press Release Summary:

Providing fiber-optic transmission of command signals and encoder feedback, TA821 Copper Reduction modules convert electrical encoder, hall sensor, and limit signals to optical signal and back into electrical signals. Products, mounted with motor and on linear stage, are available in 1-, 2-, and 4-axis units that operate on 5 Vdc and feature power-on status indicating LED. Modules measure 3.50 x 3.03 x 0.75 in. and are suited for motion control applications.

Low Cost Motion Control at the Speed of Light!

San Luis Obispo, CA - Fiber-optic transmission of command signals and encoder feedback in distances up to 1000 feet reduces cost and adds reliability to motion control systems. By eliminating costly copper wire harnesses that are susceptible to electrical noise, and lack flexibility, the reliability of the system is increased and performance enhanced. Designed by Trust Automation the TA821 Copper Reduction modules convert electrical encoder, hall sensor and limit signals to an optical signal and then back into electrical signals. They are ideal for: Robotics, medical applications, linear slides, machining centers, and applications in high electrical noise areas or applications that require high flexibility harnesses.

Because of their compact size (3.50 in. x 3.03 in. x 0.75 in), the lightweight TA821 transmit & receive modules can be mounted with the motor and on a linear stage. Available in 1, 2, and 4 axis modules, they accept standard signals. Signal inputs include: 5VDC Differential Encoder (A, B, Index), 5VDC Differential Hall Sensors, and 5-24VDC Home and limit sensors. The power requirement for each module is 5VDC and each unit features a Power-On Status LED. Highly flexible fiber-optic cables can also be ordered from Trust Automation.

The TA821 will release in single axis versions in limited volume in August starting at $470 for a transmit/receive pair. Two and four axis version will follow.
