December 22, 2004 - Fire Hazards in Oxygen Systems is a 2-day Technical and Professional Training Course that helps identify and evaluate hazards in oxygen systems. It focuses on fundamentals of safe practice in design, materials selection, and operation of oxygen systems and explains physical principles on which safe practices are based. Course will use ASTM standards and other documents to improve judgement and support decisions about oxygen systems.

"Fire Hazards in Oxygen Systems" Focus of ASTM Technical and Professional Training Courses

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., 22 December 2003-"Fire Hazards in Oxygen Systems," a unique two-day Technical & Professional Training course sponsored by ASTM International will be held three times during 2004: May 11-12 in Los Angeles, Calif., Sept. 20-21, in Panama City, Fla., and Nov. 9-10, at ASTM International Headquarters, West Conshohocken, Pa. The course will address topics such as identifying and evaluating hazards in oxygen systems; understanding the fundamentals of safe practice in design, materials selection, and operation of oxygen systems; recognizing the physical principles on which these safe practices are based; and collecting the information needed to cope with fire hazards in oxygen systems. This course will use ASTM standards and other documents to improve judgment and support decisions about oxygen systems. Selected applications and exercises will be worked out in class.

The March class is being held prior to the standards development meetings of ASTM Committee G04 on Compatibility and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen Enriched Atmospheres.

The course is intended for oxygen process designers, operators and equipment specifiers; oxygen users; SCUBA equipment suppliers; the air separation industry; oxygen hardware manufacturers; and biomedical engineers and respiratory therapists.

The $795 attendance fee includes all referenced documents and refreshment breaks.
