Combining DC power processing with multiprocessor embedded control, dual polarity output tracking power supplies are available in systems ranging from 6.6-900 kW. They feature positive (+Vo), negative (-Vo), and common (ground) output connections, as well as over-voltage and over-current protection. Supplies are current fed and tolerant to abusive loads. Applications include brushless DC motor testing, aircraft ground support systems, and 270 Vdc DC bus testing.

Magna-Power Electronics Announces Dual Polarity Tracking Power Supplies up to 900 kW
Magna-Power Electronics dual output tracking power supplies combine the best of DC power processing with multiprocessor embedded control to deliver dual polarity power systems. Available in systems ranging from 6.6 kW to 900 kW with voltage ratings as high as ± 3000 Vdc. These tracking power supplies are current fed and are more tolerant to abusive loads than conventional switching power supplies. A combination of high and medium frequency power processing technologies improves response, shrinks package size, and reduces cost.
These high powered dual polarity systems are specifically targeted to ground systems operation and testing for both automotive and aircraft systems. The power supplies feature three output connections: positive output (+Vo), negative output (-Vo), and a common (ground). All tracking power supplies feature over-voltage protection (OVP) and over-current protection (OCP) as standard. These supplies are already being used around the world with applications such as:
o Brushless DC motor testing
o Aircraft ground support systems
o 270 Vdc DC Bus Testing (For example ± 270 Vdc)
o Hybrid vehicle systems
o Water treatment
A wide range of programmability options are available for software control: RS232, GPIB, Ethernet, USB. Additionally, the systems can be programmed using external I/O isolated to earth-ground and reference signals, enabling maximum system integration.
