Scott TO-15 Products in New Cylinder Size Provides Greater Value for Measuring VOCs

Plumsteadville, PA— Scott Specialty Gases now offers Toxic Organic mixtures in a small returnable cylinder that dramatically reduces the cost per liter of gas as compared to typical nonreturnable small cylinders. Measuring 21” high by 7” in diameter, Scott’s CL cylinder contains 793 liters of gas at a cost of just $5.67 per liter. The small size maintains convenient portability, requires minimal storage space and features a guaranteed 12-month shelf life.

Scott TO-15 mixtures are also available in a larger aluminum high-pressure cylinder containing 3,965 liters when greater product quantities are needed and when cylinder storage is not an issue. During the second quarter of 2004, TO-15 products will be available in Scott’s SCOTTY ®110 liter Extra-Life cylinder that measures 12.25” high by 3.25” in diameter. All cylinders feature Scott’s exclusive Aculife® cylinder treatment process for guaranteed mixture stability and may be returned to Scott for recertification if desired.

Driven by the EPA’s Method TO-15, Scott Toxic Organic products are used to determine volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in ambient air at parts-per-million (ppm) and parts-per-billion (ppb) concentration levels. Stability of all mixture components is guaranteed by Scott at both 1 ppm and 100 ppb concentrations, with analytical accuracy and blend tolerance guaranteed to be ±10% (carbon disulfide, ethanol, 2-propanol and benzyl chloride have an analytical accuracy and blend tolerance of ±25% @ 100 ppb). All types of commonly used TO-15 mixtures, as well as custom mixtures are available.

Scott Specialty Gases is the world’s largest supplier of EPA protocol gases, and is the sole producer of Standard Reference Materials (SRMs) for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Worldwide manufacturing facilities provide convenient on-time delivery.
