Novatec Continued Their Tradition Of Breakthrough Technologies At 2007 Productronica

Novatec introduced yet another in their continuous array of breakthrough production technologies and products at this months's Productronica exhibition in Munich. The electronic assembly process specialist responsible for a host of globally recognized inventions displayed their patented VacuNest compliant tooling system for printing dispensing and placement machines. In addition Novatec introduced a table top configuration of their unique shape memory tooling that is designed to quickly and flexibly fixture a limitless array of final assembly devices and enclosures.

With a working area of up to 330mm x330mm, Table Top VacuNest extends the convenience, fast changeover and gentle handling of Novatec's Shape Memory Tooling beyond board handling and eliminates the many drawbacks of dedicated tools and cumbersome clamps while providing secure, cushioned support that removes the risk of damage due to point force pressures.

Each VacuNest module is a pliable anti-static chamber containing a foam former surrounded by polymer granules. Within 30 seconds the chamber can be profiled to the shape of the work piece assembly or enclosure. Under vacuum that profile can be retained indefinitely and when the assembly batch is complete VacuNest can be reconfigured for the next job at hand.
