June 29, 2006 - Designed for Citizen machines, QS toolholding system helps reduce insert indexing times and enables diameters to be machined multiple times without changing machine settings. Each system kit includes stop, 2 spring-loaded wedges, and one short toolholder with shank diameters from 0808-1616 mm. While single screw controls clamping and unclamping capabilities, insert edge position is automatically set up by contact between short holder and stop and does not require adjustments.

Sandvik Coromant Introduces New Quick-Change Solution

Innovative QS toolholding system designed for Citizen machines

Fair Lawn, New Jersey, June 19, 2006 - The revolutionary QS toolholding system by Sandvik Coromant is the company's latest innovation for Citizen machines. Each system kit includes a stop, two spring-loaded wedges and a short toolholder such as the CoroTurn 107, CoroCut XS, CoroCut 2, CoroCut 3 or U-lock, with shank sizes ranging from 0808 mm to 1616 mm in diameter.

Because of its unique design, the system can significantly reduce downtime and improve productivity. With this quick-change solution, insert indexing times are reduced by 2 minutes, and diameters can be machined multiple times without having to change the machine's settings.

Because the system is designed for easy operation and use, a single screw controls clamping and unclamping capabilities. The system also features a spring-loaded wedge, which secures the short holder in place and eliminates cumbersome handling. The QS system's insert edge position is automatically set up by contact between the short holder and the stop and does not require adjustments.

The new QS toolholding system will be available with the upcoming CoroPak(TM) 2006.2.
