Valenite Introduces New Versatile Valturnâ„¢ Pro-Gripâ„¢ Toolholder System
By simply changing the clamp and shim seat, carbide, ceramics or CBN inserts can be used on the same holder.
Valenite recently consolidated its turning product line with the new ValTURNâ„¢ turning system. A system with only 7 grades and 14 top form geometries that provides optimum application coverage for turning cast iron, steels, stainless steels, aluminum and high-temperature alloys. To add further improvements to the turning line, Valenite has introduced a new toolholder system that features an advanced holder design with new secure clamping features and the interchangeability to accommodate carbide, ceramic and CBN inserts.
Called the ValTURN ProGRIPâ„¢ system, this new design utilizes fewer spare parts than most competitive designs. There is simply a clamp screw, clamp, clamp spring, shim and shim screw. The same wrench can be used for both the clamp and shim screw. The spring-loaded clamp design allows the insert to be gripped in two directions, downward and back into the pocket wall providing maximum security of the insert in the holder. Inserts can be easily changed whether the holder is in the upright or upside down position, and the interchangeability of clamping components allow the same toolholder shank to be used for carbide, ceramic or CBN insert designs.
The new ProGRIP toolholder line is available in 98 different insert and lead angle shank styles to accommodate most all cast iron, steel, stainless steel and heat-treated material applications.
