Small-Pitch Timing Belts from SDP Provide Synchronous Control of Drives

New Hyde Park, New York - An extended range of timing belts, made with accurately molded teeth on one side, offer positive, efficient power transmission without slip, vibration or backlash. Available from Stock Drive Products, the toothed belts, designated as the A 6G3, A 6B3 and A 6R3 Series, are finding numerous applications in machine tools, mowers, business machines, copiers and printers where they transmit power efficiently in small spaces with minimum noise.

Because of their high flexibility, these small-pitch timing belts can wind around a number of small pulleys to permit multifunction operation in synchronizing shaft rotations. Such versatility in drive design is also useful in high-reduction drives where there is need to improve the wrap-around capabilities of belts. With the aid of an idlerthat bears against the flat side of the timing belt, speed reductions as high as 60:1 may be obtained.

The timing belts have a .200-in. pitch and are available in 1/4,5/16 and 3/8 in. belt widths. Number of grooves (teeth) range from 20 to 590, with pitch lengths from 4 in. to 118 in.

The A 6G3 Series belts are made of polyurethane with polyester balanced construction cord, with a breaking strength of 80 lbs. per 1/8" belt width; the A 6B3 Series are made of polyurethane and have a Kevlar cord resulting in a breaking strength of 130 lbs. per 1 /8" belt width. The A 6R3 series are made of durable neoprene with an operating temperature range of-30°F to 185°F.

Availability is from stock. Detailed specifications are contained in Catalog D790, available free upon request from Stock Drive Products, 2101 Jericho Turnpike, P.O. Box 5416, New Hyde Park, New York 11042-5416. Phone: 516-328-3300 Fax: 516-326-8827 Web: www.sdp-si.com
