Dimension Unveils Industry's First Large-Format 3D Printers

New Dimension BST and SST 1200 Series Gives Designers More Flexibility
with Larger Build Size at an Affordable Price

MINNEAPOLIS - April 13, 2006 - The Dimension 3D Printing Group, a business unit of Stratasys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSYS), today introduced the Dimension 1200 Series, the industry's first large-format 3D printers priced less than $30,000. The new 3D printers will be on display at the Dimension booth, Halle 16 D21, at Hannover Messe, April 24-28, 2006 in Hannover, Germany.

The Dimension 1200 Series, based on the same reliable platform as Dimension's current offering, features a build envelope that is 57 percent larger, giving designers and engineers increased flexibility to produce larger, functional 3D models at a fast rate. The new 3D printers also include new Catalyst EX software, providing designers an even easier-to-use toolset for efficiently processing 3D models. The Dimension BST 1200 and SST 1200 are priced $21,900 and $29,900, respectively, and are available immediately through Dimension resellers worldwide.

The introduction of the 1200 Series 3D Printers follows on the recent price reductions for Dimension's current line of 3D printers, the Dimension 768 Series. The 768 Series include a newly designed exterior, and utilize upgraded Catalyst EX software. The Dimension BST 768 and SST 768 are priced $18,900 and $24,900, respectively.

"We heard loud and clear from a substantial number of customers that a larger build envelope would assist them in their design and development processes," said Jon Cobb, vice president and general manager of 3D printing for Stratasys. "With the addition of our new large-format Dimension BST and SST 1200 Series 3D Printers to our product portfolio, we are not only meeting the needs of our customers, but also expanding the marketplace by offering a wider array of affordable 3D printing technology choices for designers and engineers worldwide."

Dimension's 1200 and 768 Series 3D Printers use durable ABS plastic, allowing users to test 3D prints for functionality, form and fit. The Dimension SST models include all the functionality of the BST models, but incorporate an automated soluble support removal system, which gives users greater convenience in the design process by reducing engineering time and enabling the development of prototypes with more complex design geometries.

The 2005 Wohlers Report, an annual rapid prototyping, tooling and manufacturing market report from independent industry analyst firm Wohlers Associates, Inc., cited Dimension as delivering the most 3D printers worldwide in 2004. Dimension 3D printers are the first systems to provide a true extension to 3D solid computer-aided-design (CAD) software by bringing designers desktop accessibility to functional, high-quality, 3D models at an affordable price.

About The Dimension 3D Printing Group

The Dimension 3D Printing Group is a business unit of Stratasys, Inc., based in Minneapolis, Minn. Dimension 3D printers - which include the Dimension BST and the Dimension SST - are networked, desktop modeling systems that provide CAD (Computer-Aided-Design) users a fast, office-friendly, low-cost alternative for building functional 3D prints. Dimension 3D printers build accurate models layer by layer using durable ABS plastic, allowing users to not only evaluate design concepts, but test 3D prints for functionality, form and fit. As the first desktop 3D printer that sells for less than $20,000, Dimension incorporates many key features found in modeling systems that cost tens of thousands of dollars more.
