Thread Mills cut difficult materials.

Press Release Summary:

Aero Series Type GSF Mills are PVD TiCN coated and have multiple spiral flutes employing micro geometry to reduce cutting forces. They have large cutter diameter with high-profile projections and axial internal-coolant capability for chip removal. Mills are offered in No. 10 1/4, 5/16, 5/8, and 7/16 in. sizes in UNC and UNF. They can cut pre-hardened steels to 58 Rc, stainless and mold steels, inconel, titanium, cobalt, chrome, stellite and other exotic materials.

Original Press Release:

New Thread Mill Series Is Uniquely Designed for Difficult Materials and Extraordinary Tool Life

NORTHBOROUGH, MA (June 26, 2002 ) - The Emuge Corporation has just introduced a new line of solid carbide thread mills designed to handle all extra-hard, difficult to machine materials common to the aerospace, medical, mold & die, and electronics industries.

The "Aero Series" Type GSF Mills are PVD TiCN coated and specially engineered with multiple spiral flutes employing micro geometry, which reduce cutting forces to increase the tools' strength. In addition, the thread mills have the industry's largest cutter diameter with high profile projections and axial internal coolant capability for optimum chip removal. The combining effect of these features are greatly reduced tool breakage and high performance cutting in all pre-hardened steels to 58 Rc, stainless and mold steels, inconel, titanium, cobalt, chrome, stellite and other exotics.

Mr. Mark Hatch, Manager of Thread Milling Systems for Emuge, states that "The Aero Series has a tool life that averages ten to twenty times higher than conventional taps, making them an ideal alternative for exotic thread production".

Other important factors contributing to the superb cutting performance of the Aero Series are the high quality select micro-grain carbide material and precision manufacturing to fine tolerances, both standards that are typical of Emuge products. With No. 10, 1/4", 5/16", 5/8" and 7/16" mills available now from stock in UNC and UNF, The Aero Series represents an extensive selection of product to conveniently match user need.

Emuge, part of the 1,000+ employee German parent company Emuge-Werk Richard Glimpel KG, has been the product technology and performance leader in their field for over 75 years. The company manufactures an exhaustive line of taps, end mills, thread mills, thrillers, holders and attachments, over 100,000 items sold through distributors worldwide.

North American Headquarters of Emuge are located in Northborough, MA USA, where applications solutions are managed and over 10,000 types of cutting tools and accessories are stocked for prompt shipment. Emuge also offers end user technical support through a network of in-the-field engineers with extensive tooling experience.
