Methode Introduces Its New Screen Printable Polymer Thick Film Silver Ink with Extremely High Conductivity and Low Temperature Curing

CHICAGO, IL - Methode Development Company, a subsidiary of Methode Electronics, Inc., introduces its new highly conductive 6105 Silver Conductor Ink. This extremely conductive ink allows for aggressive miniaturization and increased functionality in electronic circuitry. These performance results were previously possible only with use of high temperature ceramic firing inks or subtractive metal foil circuits.

The 6105 Silver Conductive Ink offers 5 milliohms per square, per mil resistance, which exceeds typical conductive silver inks by more than a factor of 5. The ink is ideal for use in applications such as cellular communications, telecommunications, consumer electronics, RFID antennas, Smart Cards, GPS, Bluetooth/WiFi, and automotive electronics.

6105 ink can be used on a number of substrates including: Polyester, Polyimide, other plastics, coated paper, and FR-4 - which, with its relatively low cure requirements, can be cured or dried in standard convection ovens or IR ovens. Lower resistance can be achieved by using higher temperature cure profiles with substrates that can withstand such high temperatures.

Methode Development Company's new silver ink delivers low resistivity, stable physical and electrical properties, and a generous processing window based on substrate material. Shelf life in unopened jars is six months when stored at room temperature. The ink is RoHS compliant since it contains no materials on the RoHS banned list.

As a leader in polymer ink technology, Methode Development Company also furnishes complete design, application and production support for its new 6105 ink.
