September 10, 2003 - Series 2450 Automatic Reset Thermostats feature temperature-sensitive bimetal discs that are electrically and thermally isolated from switch, and are used to actuate normally-closed contacts. Contacts are opened when surface or ambient temperatures increase to operating snap-point of calibrated bimetal disc. Thermostats are enclosed in either ceramic or phenolic dust-free housing. Bimetal disc is retained by heat-conducting end cap.

Honeywell Introduces the 2450 Automatic Reset Thermostats for Higher Reliability

FREEPORT, Ill., August 28, 2003 - Honeywell [NYSE:HON] Sensing and Control introduces the 2450 Series Automatic Reset Thermostats. Due to the small size of these thermostats, and the inherently low mass of the bimetal snap-action disc, response of this thermostat to temperature changes is extremely rapid, compared to other commercially available thermostatic devices.

The temperature-sensitive bimetal discs, electrically and thermally isolated from the switch, are used to actuate the normally-closed contacts. Contacts are opened when surface or ambient temperatures increase to the operating snap-point of the calibrated bimetal disc. For increased sensitivity, an exposed bimetal disc may be specified.

The 2450 Series is available enclosed in either a ceramic housing or a phenolic dust-free housing. The bimetal disc is retained by a heat-conducting end cap.
