October 11, 2010 - Available in lengths to 4 ft with motors to 125 hp, SUMP-GARD® Model SGK PY800SP handles flows to 800 gpm and heads to 180 ft at temperatures to 275°F. Close-coupled, cantilevered shaft minimizes headroom requirements and eliminates immersed bearings that are prone to fail in caustic, acidic, and abrasive applications. Design allows run-dry operation with no damage to pump. All wetted components are molded of solid Polypropylene, PVDF, or CPVC, eliminating corrosion, delamination, and wicking.

Thermoplastic, Low Profile Sump Pump


HILLSIDE, NJ, USA - A new SUMP-GARD® Model SGK PY800SP thermoplastic pump from Vanton features a close-coupled, cantilevered shaft that reduces headroom requirements and eliminates immersed bearings.

Hard coupling of the drive shaft to the motor shaft reduces height above the mounting plate by about 50 percent, allowing the pump to fit in restricted areas commonly encountered in replacement and OEM applications, while lowering the center of gravity.
The cantilevered, large diameter shaft eliminates the need for immersed bearings prone to fail in caustic, acidic and abrasive applications, and allows run-dry operation with no damage to the pump.

All wetted components, including a heavy wall shaft sleeve, are molded of solid Polypropylene, PVDF or CPVC, eliminating corrosion associated with pumps constructed of stainless steel and high alloys, as well as delamination and wicking related to plastic-lined and fiberglass pumps.

Since all wetted surfaces are chemically inert, the pump is also rated for handling of reagent grade chemicals, high purity water and other fluids that must remain free of contamination.

Available in lengths to 4 ft (1.2 m) with motors to 125 hp (37 kW), the pump handles flows to 800 gpm (3028 lpm) and heads to 180 ft (55 m) at temperatures to 275°F (135°C). Impellers are offered in closed and semi-open configurations, as well as recessed for pumping of slurries containing solids or stringy materials.

The pump weighs significantly less than comparable metal pumps, facilitating installation and ease of maintenance.

The company offers a range of other vertical centrifugal thermoplastic sump pumps as well as horizontal centrifugal thermoplastics pumps, sealless peristaltic pumps and integrated non-metallic tank/pump systems.
