MELCOR Introduces New Compact, Low Cost 300 Watt Thermoelectric Liquid Chiller

Trenton, NJ, USA, August 2002 - MELCOR, a world leading manufacturer of thermoelectric cooling products and a subsidiary of NYSE listed Fedders Corporation, has expanded its closed-loop liquid chiller line through the development of a 300 Watt solid-state liquid chiller.

The MRC300 is a 300-Watt, dual voltage 115/230 AC, free standing thermoelectric liquid chiller used in many applications including Laser, Medical, and Laboratory. Its dimensions are 13.8"H x 8.0"W x 13.5"D (351mm x 203mm x 343mm), and the weight is 30 lbs. (13.6 kg). Standard features include pump, reservoir, low fluid level detector and 7'(2.1 m) detachable power cord (with plug) available in three global configurations. Also featured is an integrated solid-state temperature controller that can stabilize fluid temperature to within 0.25°C. This high accuracy controller is available in two serial port configurations.

This solid-state chiller is designed to use water or a coolant solution and offers a variety of benefits over traditional compressor based chillers such as no CFC's, 300 Watts of cooling (at delta T=0), compactness, quiteness, lower maintenance, high accuracy control to +0.25°C, RS232 or RS485 serial communication and low cost. In addition, this unit has settable alarms for low and high temperature limits, and is dual voltage (115/230AC) for global use.
