Thermocouple Terminal Block eliminates cold junction risk.
February 20, 2013 -
Measuring 1.86 x 1.60 x 0.22 in., TC500 accepts thermocouple leads stripped of their insulation to .75 in. Two wires overlap when inserted, and leads are clamped together on both sides of thermocouple block for optimal electrical connection. This is accomplished without requiring any other compensation metals or contacts, eliminating the risk of cold junctions. Along with 15 A and 600 V ratings, features include compatibility with 20-14 AWG wire sizes.

Mechanicsburg, PA - Automation Systems Interconnect Inc. (ASI) introduces the TC500, thermocouple terminal block. For this terminal block, the thermocouple leads are simply stripped of their insulation to .75” and then inserted into the terminal block where the two wires overlap. The leads are clamped together on both sides of the thermocouple block, resulting in an excellent electrical connection without the need for any other compensation metals or contacts. This eliminates the risk of cold junctions.
