November 1, 2011 - Suitable for ADwin-Pro-II systems, PRO-II-TC-8-ISO accepts most common thermocouple types including B, E, J, K, N, R, S, and T via standard subminiature SMP thermocouple plugs. Each channel features 2nd order low pass filter with default cutoff frequency of 5 Hz to reduce effects of noise, and A/D converter that allows sample rates of 7-3,500 Hz with resolution of 0.1°C (32°F). Cold junction reference provides measurements over range of -454 to 3,308°F, depending on thermocouple type.

CAS Introduces New ADwin Thermocouple Measurement Card

ADwin Pro-II-TC-8-ISO

CAS DataLoggers in cooperation with ADwin has released the new PRO-II-TC-8-ISO high-performance temperature measurement card for ADwin-Pro-II systems, providing 8 channels of isolated thermocouple inputs. This new card accepts most common thermocouple types including B, E, J, K, N, R, S, and T via standard subminiature SMP thermocouple plugs for easy connections. Each channel has a 2nd order low pass filter with a default cutoff frequency of 5 Hz to reduce the effects of noise along with its own A/D converter that allows sample rates of 7 Hz to 3500 Hz with a resolution of 0.1°C (32°F). An onboard cold junction reference provides accurate measurements over a range of -270°C to 1820°C (-454°F to 3308°F), depending on the thermocouple type. Each channel also has its own jumper to select isolated (up to ± 10 VDC) or grounded measurements. All temperature calculations are made using the IEC 584-1 standard. The PRO-II-TC-8-ISO card is ideal for monitoring temperatures in test stands, laboratory experiments, manufacturing equipment, or industrial processes and is suitable for data acquisition and closed loop control applications in the automotive and aerospace industry, basic R&D, component testing, servo-hydraulic systems and motion control.

The ADwin Pro-II-TC-8-ISO card is just one of over 80 different plug-in cards currently available for the ADwin-Pro-II real-time data acquisition and control system. These cards provide a comprehensive set of capabilities for high speed data acquisition and control including analog inputs, analog outputs, digital inputs, digital outputs, counters, signal conditioning, and CANbus, Flexray, serial and EtherCAT interfaces. The architecture of the ADwin system is optimized to provide precise, deterministic operation with usecond response times. A high performance local DSP controller manages the data acquisition hardware and works in cooperation with a PC via a shared memory interface that provides transparent access to data and control variables. In this way the system is partitioned to share the load such that the ADwin's DSP controls all time critical tasks, while the PC is free to handle the user interface, data presentation and data storage.

The modular ADwin-Pro-II real-time data acquisition and control system contains up to 480 analog inputs, digital inputs and outputs, or any combination of these. Additionally, a high performance 300 MHz DSP processor and an Ethernet communications interface are also included as well as an optional TICO co-processor modules for local pre-processing. This versatile, expandable system is offered in a wide variety of enclosure sizes, modular configurations, and in both AC and DC powered versions.

The Pro-II system is freely programmable using either the ADBasic real-time IDE or alternatively the graphical model-based Simulink® software package from Mathworks®. ADwin systems are compatible with computers running under Windows, Linux, Mac, or Unix. Driver packages are available for virtually all common PC development tools including VB, VB.NET, C/C++/C#, Java, Phyton, LabVIEW, WinCC, Matlab, Simulink, VEE, Dasylab, and many more.
