April 19, 2010 - Intended for use in retail and hospitality environments, RP-B10 point-of-sale (POS) printer outputs 2 and 3 in. wide, 203 dpi receipts at 200 mm/sec. Unit measures 5.9 x 7.28 x 5.49 in. and incorporates heavy-duty, anti-locking and auto-recovering cutter rated for 1.5 million cuts minimum. With 360,000 hr MTBF rating, printer provides 62 miles print out minimum and supports standard, vertical, and wall mounting. Choice of USB and serial interfaces is standard.

Seiko Instruments New Receipt Printer Combines Reliability, Value, and Ease of Use


Torrance, CA - Seiko Instruments USA Inc. (SIU) Thermal Printer Division, http://www.siiprinters.com, a globally recognized leader in thermal printer technology, today announced availability of a new value-priced point-of-sale (POS) printer. The RP-B10 direct thermal receipt printer combines space saving design with the performance, reliability, and ease of use demanded by high-volume retail and hospitality environments. The exceptionally durable RP-B10 printer outputs 2-inch and 3-inch wide, 203 dpi receipts at 200 mm/second, providing a minimum 62 miles (100 km) print out and a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 360,000 hours. In addition, the heavy-duty anti-locking and auto-recovering cutter design is rated for a minimum 1.5 million cuts.

Measuring 5.9" (150mm) wide x 7.28" (185mm) high x 5.49" (139.5mm) wide, the small-format RP-B10 offers standard-, vertical-, and wall-mount options and a choice of USB and Serial interfaces. Driver software for Windows® and OPOS (Windows® XP/Vista), a comprehensive software development kit (SDK), and a wide array of utilities for rapid printer configuration, adding logo, coupons, or watermark, printing in grayscale, monitoring, and more, significantly enhance integration flexibility.

The RP-B10 is available with black or white casing and comes with a 3-year Seiko Instruments AssurePrint warranty as standard. The AssurePrint program provides additional options to extend the base warranty and to provide 24-hour printer replacement service.
