New thermal interface material delivers improved conductivity, features the ultimate in handling and softness.

CHANHASSEN, MN - The Bergquist Company announces the launch of its latest Gap Pad® product - Gap Pad® VO Ultimate. Gap Pad® VO Ultimate maintains a highly conformable, elastic nature that provides excellent interfacing and wet-out characteristics, even to surfaces with high roughness or uneven topography. This fiberglass reinforced, silicone-based material is highly compliant and is ideal for decreasing stress on fragile electronic component leads and solder balls.

Gap Pad® VO Ultimate is an upward extension of the popular Gap Pad® VO Soft and VO Ultra Soft series. The key product characteristics which customers most valued about Gap Pad® VO Soft and VO Ultra Soft have been maintained, while the thermal performance has been improved. The fiberglass carrier on one side of the material allows ease of rework, excellent handling characteristics and puncture resistance. Additionally the fiberglass carrier has a slight inherent tack, minimizing any shifting during assembly. Typical applications for Gap Pad® VO Ultimate include computers and peripherals, power conversion, telecommunictions and applications with any heat-generating semiconductor and heat sink.

Gap Pad® VO Ultimate is offered in the standard thicknesses of 20 to 125 mil and is available in sheet form or as die-cut parts of most any shape or size.
