February 10, 2009 - Made from chemically cross-linked, compressible polyolefin, Interstate Thermal Insulation Foam features durable skin that is moisture proof and resistant to microorganisms. Closed-cell, energy-absorbent material can be die-cut to specification. Available in 7 thicknesses from 1/8-2 in. and densities from 1.8-24 lb/ft³, impact-resistant product exhibits less than 5% change in thermal stability in 24 hr @ 158°F.

Thermal Insulation Compressible with Durable Skin


A lightweight, energy absorbent foam insulation with a durable skin that can be die-cut to specification and supplied with an adhesive backing is being introduced by Interstate Specialty Products, Inc. of Sutton, Massachusetts.

Interstate Thermal Insulation Foam is made from a compressible polyolefin that is chemically cross-linked for added stability and has a durable skin which is moisture proof and resistant to microorganisms. Suitable for a variety of applications, this lightweight closed-cell foam can be die-cut to specification and supplied with an adhesive backing for easy assembly.

Available in seven thicknesses from 1/8" to 2", Interstate Thermal Insula-tion Foams are offered in densities from 1.8 to 24 lb./cu.ft. and exhibit <5% change in thermal stability in 24 hrs. @158°F. Capable of withstanding hundreds of thousands of impacts, typical applications include automotive, construction, and industrial equipment, and HVAC pumps and systems.
