Industrial Video & Control Co. adds thermal imaging to certified camera

Newton, MA - November 2, 2009 - Industrial Video & Control Co. (IVC), a leading provider of networkedbased video surveillance systems, announced today that it has added a new camera to its certified IP product line. IVC will soon be shipping a high-resolution thermal imaging camera ideal for low-light or no-light locations.

The camera is certified Class I Division 2 making it suitable for use in many petrochemical applications.

IVC is a manufacturer of IP-based cameras and developer of advanced software for managing networks of video systems. "There is an increased need to secure critical petrochemical facilities," states Norman Fast, president of IVC. "We feel this industry-leading IP thermal camera along with our CCD and megapixel camera products and camera management software provides customers the pieces needed to build a comprehensive video security or process monitoring solution."

The thermal imager is housed in an enclosure that is rated NEMA 6P, IP68 and is certified Class I Division 2 for gas groups A through D. The assembly is pressurized and has a wide operating temperature range making useful in almost any environment. When used with IVC's camera management software, this camera provides both local and remote monitoring of industrial facilities. The camera can detect human activity over 1,500 feet away.

The camera operates in black hot, white hot, and color modes. First shipments are slated for December, 2009.

IVC camera offering includes pan-tilt zoom, fixed, auto-zoom and varifocal (manual zoom) cameras. IVC manufactures cameras that are suitable for the harshest weather and environmental conditions; their cameras have been certified for use in Class I Div 1 and Class I Div 2 (inherently dangerous) environments. IVC's Relay Server and View Station software packages add capability including remote viewing and control of video as well as management of all aspects of your surveillance and monitoring systems. IVC software also facilitates integration of video into 3rd party applications.
