Powerstax Provides Easy Alternative to PCB Mount of Half Brick DC-DC Converters

August 2005 - Powerstax plc (formerly called Advanced Power Conversion PLC) of Farnborough, England, announces the introduction of the new ZTAH terminal adaptor providing a simple, quick and cost effective alternative to board mounting standard PCB pin half brick size dc-dc converters.

Supplying an option for screw and clamp connections to PCB pin type half brick modules, makes the ZTAH adaptor ideal for use during bench testing, design work and for industrial applications. Measuring 1.69 x 2.17 inches, the Powerstax ZTAH adaptor fits without difficulty within the industry standard half brick dc-dc converter footprint (2.4in x 2.28in).

At just 0.457 inches high, the low profile ZTAH fits snugly on the top of the converters by either solder fit or alternatively, with a special pluggable option. The single sided adaptor does not hinder the conventional mounting of the converter module and permits units either to be cold wall mounted or employ an appropriate Powerstax heatsink fixed in the usual manner.

With maximum 24A output power rating, the two rows of 5mm pitch "Screw and Clamp" terminal blocks accommodate 26-16AWG (1.5mm2) wire and provide an easy and repeatable way for system designers to carry out development and test functions whilst industrial field engineers can integrate, install and replace modules with just a screwdriver.

Available now, the simple design ensures a cost effective solution for those requiring a straightforward and re-useable interface for half brick DC-DC Converter with industry standard pin configurations. Prices are from USD 17.50 each for quantities of 100 pieces.
