New Temperature Sensor Designed for High-Shock Environments Up to 80 G's

A new miniature RTD surface sensor, designed to perform in high-vibration and high-shock environments (up to 80 g's) has been introduced by Weed Instrument of Round Rock, Texas.

The new sensor, Model A9540, features a flat mounting surface and very low weight (less than .2 grams) for easy surface-mounting. Extremely small in size, the sensor measures only 0.150 square inches and is 0.055-inch thick.

Ruggedly constructed of ceramic, the Model A9540 is a platinum wire-wound element. Temperature range is -260 to 400 degrees C; interchangeability is +/- 1 degree C at 0 degrees C.

Further, the new sensor features ice-point resistance up to 1,000 ohms as well as insulation resistance to 10 Megohms.

The Model A9540 has a very low time constant (0.3 seconds max) and is ideal for many applications in both commercial and military aviation and defense equipment. Industrial applications include motor testing, cryogenic uses, optics, analytical equipment, heater blanket control and commercial ovens.
